Erick Mutua is the founder and lead developer of EMMCloud Softwares — a cloud software company built from the ground up to serve small and growing businesses. After spending years observing the challenges these businesses face daily, Erick identified a critical gap: powerful, affordable, cloud-based business software built specifically for how they actually operate simply did not exist.
In December 2025, Erick founded EMMCloud Softwares — not as a side project, but as a full commitment to building software that makes a real difference for the businesses that use it. As the sole lead developer, he designs, builds, tests, and maintains every product personally, ensuring quality and vision remain consistent and customer-driven at every stage.
Erick's approach is shaped by one core principle: build software that solves real problems for real people. Not software adapted awkwardly from other markets, but software born from understanding how businesses actually run — their payments, their day-to-day operations, and their people.
Why EMMCloud Softwares was born
The story of EMMCloud Softwares begins with a simple observation: countless small businesses — supermarkets, retail shops, pharmacies, hardware stores — were managing their operations manually. Paper notebooks for stock, messaging apps for orders, guesswork for profits.
The software that existed was either too expensive, built for large enterprises, or so complex that it required costly training and support beyond what most small and medium businesses could afford. Erick saw this and made a decision: build something better, from scratch, specifically for businesses like these.
EMMCloud Softwares was founded in Kenya in December 2025. Within months, the first product — EMMCloud POS — was live and serving businesses. What started as a local project has grown into a cloud product built to serve businesses well beyond where it began.

Our mission is to be a trusted cloud software company for small and medium businesses — building tools that are powerful enough to compete with global software but priced and built for businesses that global software usually overlooks.
We are guided by the belief that every small business deserves access to great software. Not just the large corporations, but the single-shop retailer, the growing pharmacy chain, the independent fashion boutique owner. Small and medium enterprises form the backbone of economies everywhere — they deserve software that works for them.
Our vision is to grow EMMCloud Softwares into a full software studio — building multiple products across different business verticals, all anchored in the same commitment to quality, affordability, and relevance to how businesses actually operate.

Erick Mutua founded EMMCloud Softwares in Kenya with the mission of building affordable business software for entrepreneurs and SMEs.
EMMCloud POS launched
The first product — EMMCloud POS, a cloud point of sale system — was launched and made available to businesses on Android and Windows.
Multi-location support added
EMMCloud POS expanded to support businesses with multiple branches, allowing owners to manage all locations from a single cloud dashboard.
Growing and expanding
With a growing customer base, EMMCloud Softwares continues to improve its products and lay the groundwork for new software solutions.
